La Roux’s Beautiful British Electropop
If you don’t know about La Roux, they are an electropop duo from the UK. They are angsty and attractive singer Elly Jackson (whose signature space-age red hair verges on a trademark) and co-writer/co-producer Ben Langmaid. Ms. Jackson has a uniquely gritty voice that makes the music shine, and Mr. Langmaid makes 80′s-style synth pop that makes you wanna dance. The band says it’s influenced by Depeche Mode and Human League, but in my opinion they have a sound all their own.
If you don’t know this band, you should.
One listen and Jackson’s voice will be stuck in your head.

Here are some of my favorite La Roux tracks, complete with a brand new remix from Lifelike. Betcha $10 you see these guys on MTV within the year.
